Not in Geneva yet...

Short blog, cause life is a bit chaotic at the moment.

Last week I got bad news: my ‘third grandma’ had stopped eating and drinking and thus it was likely that she was going to die within a week.

Tuesday night: My room looked like a cloth bomb had just exploded. Since I had to go to the RIVM during the day and in the afternoon I needed all my time to put the ‘personal content’ of my room in boxes :), only in the evening I had time to think about packing my bag for Geneva. Big stressy chaos. In the end I was packing till 2 am and therefore I couldn’t go to Queens night anymore (sorry again everybody :s) to say goodbye to my friends.

Wednesday morning: Although I didn’t sleep much, at 9 am I was feeling kinda ready to go South! We (I, my bro and dad) drove to Paris where we met our Polish friends. Great to see them again!

Thursday and Friday: I walked both days around in Paris. Enjoying the sun (got my first sunburn of the year), seeing the Eiffel tower and all the other typical Paris things, drinking a lot of Polish vodka at night and enjoying to be with the two Polish families who I hadn’t seen for simply too long!

Friday afternoon: We got a phonecall that my ‘third grandma’ was not doing very well. So we cancelled our trip to Geneva (we were planning to leave Paris on Saturday morning and then drive to Switzerland), and thus the next morning - that’s today - we drove back to the Netherlands.

So here I am, back in Rijswijk… Weird feeling. My ‘third grandma’ is still alive, but it’s just a matter of hours…

Now I have to decide whether I will catch a plane tomorrow to Geneva so I can still start with my internship this coming Monday. Or that I’ll stay here for some more days so that I can be at the funeral, and start one week later in Switzerland.

I have no idea what to do…
