Ok, the story...
Thursday night I went together with 5 other Dutch interns plus my supervisor to Lausanne, to watch a training of our Dutch National Football team!
After driving to Lausanne at a traffic-less road, we arrived in the city. Chaos. Orange everywhere, traffic everywhere and we were moving only 2m/min. Plus it was also going upwards all the time, and since the car of my supervisor didn't had a hand break (still don't get why), it was quiet an adventure. After half an hour waiting and constantly braking, giving power, breaking, power again etc, we suddenly smelled something really weird. Like some old rotten cheese. We closed all the windows but the smell stayed... And it actually got only worse and worse. And then, 10 minutes later, my supervisor suddenly shouted: IT IS THE CAR! Really a LOT of smoke suddenly came out of the front part of the car, so we went to the side road as fast as possible and we (especially all the girls) jumped out like crazy cause we felt like the car could blow up any second (not realizing at that moment that the gas is always in the back part of the car). Turned out that the clutch plate of the car was overheated...
So there we were, almost at the stadium, but now stuck along the road with a broken car. The smoke was really everywhere, and all the cars passing by immediately closed their windows cause it smelled so, so badly!
Long story short: somebody luckily helped us calling the broken-car-service (English word?) and while my supervisor was waiting for them, we already went to the stadium where we saw all 'our' players. Really so great, and so cool to see them in real life..!

Halfway the training my supervisor joined us, because he had to wait at least till 8 o clock till they would come and help us with the car. At the end of the training all the Dutchies wanted to go to a restaurant for some dinner, but LUCKILY I managed to convince them that professional football players were for sure not having a shower in a small stadium like in Lausanne, and that they would probably go to their fancy hotel right after leaving the field. So we went to the exit and yep, I was right! We saw all the players exiting the stadium and entering the buss. Immediately, without looking, like real profs always do. There was only one exception: Edwin vd Sar!! He decided to walk around a bit, to shake some hand, give away some signatures to the kids etc. And WOOHOO I was standing almost front line and I managed to shake his hand!
Afterwards we went to a restaurant while my supervisor went back to his car (he joined us a bit later again). It was a fondue restaurant - but don't worry, Switzerland is not changing me that much that I had cheese fondue as well :) Just some good old pasta! - where we stayed for a while. We took the train back to Geneva, and around 12 I was finally back home.
A very nice night and a great experience to see 'our boys' in real life!
