Another cycling weekend...

... but this one was completely different than two weeks ago. Because it was cycling around in the countryside of Switzerland - where there are a LOT of steep hills - with… an American! Quiet an experience…

Yesterday at 11 I met with Perrine (French girl) and Chandresh (the American) at the bike renting place – they are starting to recognize me :). Destination: the vineyards. We started to cycle, and although especially Chandresh was not that used to it, 30 minutes later we left Geneva behind us.

The views were amazing (I know I saw this every time, but I am just really starting to like the Swiss nature!), but to Chandresh it was even more amazing that I managed to cycle with just one hand so that I could use my other hand to take pictures of us riding our bikes :)

After a while I convinced the other two to take an adventures path… It was true mountain biking, but then down hills. I lost my flip-flops twice while going down and Chandresh almost felt four times, but we got at the end of the path alive. We had to walk over a bridge (the train was driving above us), to cross a very nice river.

At the other side of the river was a protected area for exotic birds and other almost extinguished species. You could spy on them in a couple of ‘viewing houses’ but the most exotic animal we saw was a bird with an orange pecker. (Good color he picked though).

After a nice picnic it was time to start cycling back… Meaning: we had to go all the way up again. Ok, it was a pretty tough journey, and it was indeed a bit steep, but it was fun to see the difference between a Dutch and a French, and the difference between two Europeans and an American! While I was already at the top, a couple of minutes later Perrine arrived, and some more minutes later, we started to see Chandresh again. Far behind, and walking next to his bike…

The rest of the trip back was mainly waiting for a walking Chandresh, but at 6 o clock all three of us were back in Geneva. The rest of the night we chilled at my place, watched two movies and recovered from our journey.

And today is just a typical Sunday. I woke up late, watched a movie, cleaned my place (I’m ready for my next visitor: Michael, who’ll arrive this coming Thursday!), and tonight I will go to Plainpalais again for the Eurocup craziness. Portugal against Switzerland, so who ever will win, it will be a party again on every street.

CiaoCiao
moi

Finally! In between all the Portuguese, Turkish, Swiss and Spanish flags, I have found a Dutch balcony!

Klinkt als een leuke tocht! Had je nog modderspetters overal na dat bospad? :)
En ik zie dat je weer heel optimistisch je bikini had aangetrokken, that's the spirit!
